Guildford River Retreat

Hotel boutique accommodation nestled in the heart of historic Guildford, a secluded area, close to the Swan River.

Guildford River Retreat originally known as “Rohais” later known as “Guppy House” was built in 1897 in the Federation Queen Anne style, during the West Australian gold boom period. The house was built for William Francis Guppy as a family residence. Over the years “Rohais” has continued to be a part of the Guildford community being used as the “Wells Rest Home” 1964 – 1981, then the Foothills School 1982 – 2000.

Now known as “Guildford River Retreat” this Heritage listed Federation house has been restored to its original standing to provide hosted luxury accommodation at an elegant residential address of Guildford. The property boasts a rural setting with gardens and walkways down to the Swan River yet right in the heart of Guildford, the gateway to the Swan Valley and Wine Region.
